Porcelain veneers

What is porcelain veneer?

Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain veneers that are bonded to the front of your teeth to change the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth to improve your smile.

What are the advantages of porcelain veneers compared to other restoration methods?

Porcelain veneers are popular today because of the advantages they bring:

1. Maximum preservation of tooth tissue due to the patient's minimal tooth grinding, on average from 0.3 to 0.8 mm, this thickness is equal to the thickness of the veneer glued to the tooth surface.

2. Most veneers do not require root canal treatment.

3. Minimizing the sensitivity of teeth after finishing compared to ordinary porcelain crowns.

4. Your feeling of chewing is almost unchanged from the original.

5. Outstanding aesthetic effect, natural tooth color, limiting bad breath and gingivitis.

What cases are veneers made?

  • Worn teeth
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Fluoridated teeth
  • Teeth stained with tetracyclines
  • Teeth with gaps
  • The teeth are irregularly shaped
  • Teeth with large old welds that have changed color

A big problem to note is that Veneer should only be done in patients with regular teeth, if the teeth are crowded, it is advisable to straighten the teeth before doing the Veneer.

How long can veneers last?

Like conventional prosthetic methods, veneers can last up to 15-20 years.

Does veneer require special care?

1. Veneers do not require special care. You continue to practice daily oral hygiene measures including brushing, flossing, and mouthwash.
2. To ensure long-term results and limit staining on teeth, you should avoid foods and beverages that are easily contaminated, such as coffee, tea or red wine...
